Not my gif but guys
can’t you see it?
Daryl knew there were good people in the world all along. He thinks they’re all dead, but he knew it.
There are two interpretations of this little scene. One is that he’s referring to Hershel, who was also like a father to him, strengthening that…
This is beautiful and totally what I was thinking! It’s a look of realisation. Daryl’s expression says it alone but her reaction confirms it for me. Looking at this again it’s made me feel like she’s put her foot in it like ‘Ahh, I get it. D’oh!’ Plus the fact he hasn’t mentioned Carol because he just can’t bring himself to.
They’ve already talked about everyone else, we know he can talk about them. It wouldn’t have taken much to mention their names. As soon as I saw this I had the same “ah… shit” realisation that Beth had.
And I seriously think the song she was playing had something to do with it all, and the near emotional break down he had in the coffin (please also don’t let that be horrific foreshadowing). I need to rewatch those scenes again but I hate rewatching anything so soon so if someone can tell me the song she was playing that’d be great.
I heard that a lot during that time but when I thought about it. Cas rebelled. But they ALWAYS brought him back and brainwashed him and then he was fine, he was a good little soldier, sometimes they erased his memory sometimes they didn’t, very much like in 4x20. They brought Cas back because he was considering disobedience and they thought with the amount of brainwashing that they did that he would be fine, like in season 8 when they brainwashed him to kill Dean. Apparently. This has been been working on him for thousands upon thousands of years. But with Dean. And only with Dean. It doesn’t work. Dean breaks through the brainwashing and the mind control and in both The Beautiful Room and The Crypt he pulled Cas back to him with basically just the strength of their connection with each other.
So I don’t see it as them diminishing Dean’s influence. Their effectively proving that Cas would always fight for what was right but could and was brainwashed to do what he was told. And that Dean, and only Dean, is the exception to that rule. Because it was more than his cause that drew Cas to him, it was Dean himself, in both cases that brought Cas back to himself.
- Daryl was almost happy
- Daryl was ready to stay in that home with Beth
- Daryl was definitely a different person
- Beth isn’t dying, that would be the most obvious thing in the world and that’s not Gimple’s style
- They put Daryl with the guys Rick saw in the house for a reason, with “Joe”,…
